History
The Sea Captain Foster’s Homestead was built in the late 1700 on a land and possibly small house donated by father in Law, Captain Freeman, the later house was built around 1823.
According to records, Family Foster lived on this land until late 1800, when a cholera epidemic hit, and only one child remained and the house was sold for $2000 in 1882 to the Melissa Crosby.
Restoration efforts:
Sea Captain Foster’s Homestead has received a small grant from Corpwell.org, a Not-For-Profit specializing in repurposing historic properties while simultaneously bringing them back to represent it’s original aspect. Renovation are also supported by private donations and volunteers.
